RICHMOND, Va. —  High pressure moving into the area allowed winds to lighten Saturday night into Sunday morning. Lighter winds, clear skies and dry air caused temperatures to plummet into the 20s for much of central Virginia.  It stayed slightly warmer to the east since winds were a little stronger overnight.  This mixed the air around and slowed the temperature drop.

Lows Monday morning will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s, and highs will reach into the 70s.  Cooler air will filter back in for the middle of the week, but overnight lows will not drop into the 20s.
