Colonial Heights Walmart reopens after evacuation due to bomb threat

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. — Colonial Heights Police are investigating a bomb threat at the Walmart Supercenter, located at 671 Southpark Blvd., Sunday night.

Police said they received a call at 8:20 p.m. for a bomb threat at the Walmart. They said they responded to the scene along with Virginia State Police.

Witnesses tell CBS 6 the store was evacuated and the parking lot was blocked off by police as they searched the store.

Law enforcement officials conducted a sweep of the building with explosive detection K-9 units. Virginia State Police assisted in the search.

The search concluded with no explosives discovered and Walmart reopened the store at 10 p.m.

Police said this incident is still under investigation.
