RICHMOND, Va. — Temperatures the past few days have been very comfortable considering it is still summer. Lows Friday morning dropped down into the mid 50s to lower 60s. Normal low is around 66° for Richmond.
The low of 61° at Richmond International was the coolest low since late June.
When you add in the low for Saturday morning, we will have had four straight days of lows at or below 65°, something that hasn’t happened since early June. However, heat and humidity will move back into the area Sunday into much of next week.
We are looking at highs near or above 90° Sunday through Wednesday, the longest stretch of consecutive 90s since early August.
With the jet stream back to a more summer-like pattern, the hot and humid weather should stick around for a while. We may see some clouds or rain from Erika, depending upon the exact track, towards the end of the week, which would temper the heat a little bit.
