RICHMOND, Va. -- Battalion Chief Tina Watkins is well-known throughout the Richmond Fire Department.
According to online reports, Watkins was also one of the first female firefighters in Richmond.
However, according to court records, Watkins was charged with misdemeanor assault Thursday.
Sources told CBS 6 the incident allegedly happened at Richmond Fire Station 23 on LaBrook Concourse and involved another firefighter.
CBS 6 went to Watkins' home on Saturday.

Watkins also served as the Public Information Officer for the fire department.
CBS 6 contacted the Richmond Fire Department regarding the charges, but a spokesman said that because he could not comment on the incident because it is a personnel matter.
