HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — A Henrico man was charged with one count of animal cruelty after Henrico Animal Protection Police found his dog dead in a crate, according to Henrico Police.  Officers responded to Walter Boryphie Wilson’s Buffalo Road home Saturday after someone reported the dog locked in the crate.

“The arriving officer located the homeowner who reported that he did have a dog that was crated, but the dog had recently died,” Henrico Police spokesman Lt. Chris Eley said. “The officer collected the remains for necropsy. The necropsy revealed the dog died due to heat exposure.”

Online court records indicate Wilson plead guilty to inadequate care of an animal in 2011.
