RICHMOND, Va. — The University of Virginia and St. Christopher’s School are mourning the death of Quentin “Quent” Alcorn. Alcorn died in Richmond, UVa Vice President and Chief Student Affairs Officer Patricia Lampkin informed students via email Monday.

Alcorn, a rising fourth-year student, majored in chemical engineering and served as president of Theta Chi fraternity.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Quent’s parents, Peter and Marcia Alcorn, other family members, and his friends. His father has noted how much Quent loved UVa and his involvement here,” Lampkin said.

The university has offered counseling to students who may still be in Charlottesville during summer break.

“Although we are not physically together as a community, our thoughts are with all of our students,” Lampkin added.

Alcorn graduated from St. Christopher’s School in Richmond in 2012.

Details about the cause and manner of Alcorn’s death have not yet been released. Anyone who would like to share their thoughts can email them here or leave them in the comment section below.
