The holiday weekend kicked off with a gorgeous day Saturday. Highs were actually a few degrees below normal, reaching the mid 70s.
Highs Sunday will get back above normal with inland areas reaching the low to mid 80s. It will be cooler near the coast.
Humidity levels will continue to be comfortable Sunday into Monday. We will start to notice the humidity creeping up a little bit late Monday, with more humid weather for the rest of the week. This will be at the same point when highs will be near or just above 90°.
The weather for Virginia Beach will continue to be fantastic. Water temperatures have reached well into the 60s, and water temps are around 70° at the Outer Banks.
Temperatures will warm well into the 80s on Memorial Day, and a few spots will be near 90°. This won’t be the warmest Memorial Day out of the past 15 years, but it will follow the trend of seeing temperatures above normal.
The weather will continue to cooperate for the Squirrels. There is the slight chance of a thunderstorm of Wednesday, but the chance is pretty low. Wear lots of sunscreen!
Widely scattered storms will be around for the middle and end of the week. Due to the scattered nature, not all areas will see the storms. However, with the higher humidity levels, any storm that does develop will produce heavy rainfall. The chance for seeing rain will be higher across northern and western Virginia.
In terms of national weather, the Plains continue to get hammered with repeated storms. After seeing severe weather and flooding rainfall the past few days, additional inches of rain will occur Sunday into Monday along with the chance of additional severe storms.
