TLC yanks ’19 Kids and Counting’ after Josh Duggar revelations

TLC, the home of “19 Kids and Counting,” has remained silent in the wake of sex-abuse allegations against Josh Duggar. While no-stranger-to-controversy-herself Mama June has called for the show to be canceled, the network hasn’t commented directly and has only linked to statements from the Duggar family on its social media accounts.

TLC also aired a “19 Kids and Counting” marathon Thursday night (May 21), just hours after Josh Duggar said he “acted inexcusably” as a teenager. According to police reports, he inappropriately touched several young girls, some while they slept. For a variety of reasons, including the statute of limitations expiring, he was never prosecuted.

The Internet noticed the marathon and was not happy.

A second marathon was planned for Friday night leading into the Memorial Day weekend; that’s not happening now, as TLC’s listings for the evening are a mix of “Say Yes to the Dress” and “Curvy Brides.” A two-hour block of “19 Kids” episodes was still showing up in listings for noon ET but appeared to have been replaced by “The Little Couple.”
