HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Saturday marked the 8th annual Bark in the Park event sponsored by the Henrico Humane Society at Deep Run Park in the county’s west end.
The event helps animals find their forever homes.
Since its inception, the Bark in the Park event raised more than $30,000. This year, hundreds of people and their pets enjoyed a sunny day of fun and fur.
There was a 2K walk, pet adoptions and pet contests like the fastest tail wagger and Frosty Paw eating contests.
The Henrico Humane Society, which is an all-volunteer driven organization, helps rescue about 700 homeless animals across central Virginia each and every year.
