Coming this fall to CBS, a TV series version of “Limitless,” the 2011 feature film starring Bradley Cooper. The Oscar-nominated actor is among the show’s producers, and the network revealed Wednesday (May 13) that he will also be appearing on the show.

“He’s in the pilot and will recur, subject to his availability,” says CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler.

Cooper will reprise his role from the movie as Edward Mora, a senator who has a secret relationship with the TV show’s lead character Brian Finch (Jake McDorman). Finch discovers the brain-boosting power of the mysterious drug NZT and is coerced by the FBI into using his extraordinary cognitive abilities to solve complex cases for them. Senator Mora is a presidential hopeful who also uses NZT and has his own agenda for new protege Finch.

Alongside Finch in the major case squad are Special Agent Rebecca Harris (Jennifer Carpenter), a formidable investigator with a dark past, and Special Agent Boyle (Hill Harper), a former military officer and Rebecca’s confidante. They report to Special Agent in Charge Nasreen “Naz” Pouran (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio), a canny manipulator of the reins of power.

“Limitless” will air on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
