RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are investigating a second shooting Thursday afternoon on Richmond's Southside that sent a man to the hospital.
Officers said that a man running down the street in an alley was shot several times near Belt Boulevard and Stockton Street around 4:30 p.m.
CBS 6 reporter Chelsea Rarrick said that someone found the victim, who was conscious, near the sidewalk and called 911.
Police said that the man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
Officials have not yet released a suspect description.
The scene of the shooting is just three miles from where police are investigating a deadly shootingin front of the Family Dollar on Midlothian Turnpike.
A Richmond police spokesperson said that officers do not believe the Stockton Street shooting is connected to the incident outside the Family Dollar.
