CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. -- State police said alcohol is being considered a factor in a single-vehicle wreck that killed a 54-year-old woman in Caroline County early Sunday morning.
Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick said the crash happened on Route 605 (Paige Road) two miles west of Route 2 around 12 a.m.
"A 2002 Hyundai Accent was traveling west on Route 605 (Paige Road) when it ran off the road left overcorrected to the right, overturned three times ejecting the driver," Vick wrote in a news release.
The driver, Lori B. Guess of Woodford, was transported to Mary Washington Hospital where she died of her injuries.
Vick said that the victim was not wearing a seatbelt and that alcohol is being considered a factor in the crash.
