DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. — The man accused of shooting and killing a trooper that was trying to help him two years ago will go to trial.
Russell Brown was ruled competent to stand trial Friday and his mental health review was terminated.
Investigators said Brown fatally shot Master Trooper Junius Walker, who thought Brown was stranded on I-85 and got out of his cruiser to help.
Brown’s capital murder trial will begin in March of 2016 and is expected to last 30 days.
