Man accused of stabbing Church Hill group home worker caught near Diamond

RICHMOND, Va. — The man suspected of stabbing a Richmond woman who worked at a group home has been apprehended.

Police said 33-year-old Charles Lewis lives at the group home on North 32nd Street in Church Hill.

Official said  Lewis picked up a sharp object to stab the female employee just before 1 a.m. Thursday.

Officers said he was picked up hours later along the 2900 block of North Boulevard, near the Diamond, after people in the area noticed blood on his clothes.

The victim is expected to recover.

Lewis has been charged with aggravated assault.
