RICHMOND, Va. -- The Virginia Department of Transportation continuesto work overnight into the early morning hours. VDOT is warning drivers to be aware of the re-freeze brought on by frigid temperatures, which could create icy spots during rush hour; that's on top of the mess that remains on some neighborhood routes.

To help assist in plowing, the agency asked people not to park on the roads if they could avoid it.

Refreezing could cause slick driving conditions overnight.  Drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution, particularly on secondary roads.  Cars should be parked in driveways and out of streets to allow snow plows room to travel down narrow neighborhood roads. --VDOT

"Just take your time and don't be in hurry, you'll get there when you get there," said driver Steven Heflebower.

Hazardous road conditions can  be reported to the customer service center, anytime, by calling 1-800-FOR-ROAD (367-7623).
