CHICAGO –A teenage boy was shot and killed while recording a fight on his cell phone; a fight that started over a Facebook altercation.Chicago Police told WGN that Anthony Diaz, 13, was shot multiple times just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the Belmont Central neighborhood of Chicago. Diaz’s stepfather, Ralph Otero, said the teen sneaked out of the house with his sisters, ages 15 and 17, who planned to confront someone about a post on Facebook.
Otero said that just five minutes later Diaz was shot. He was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai hospital.
Police said someone shot him in the side and at least one of the bullets exited through his chest.
Officers found four shell casings at the scene.
No arrests have been made but police are questioning witnesses and hope to use surveillance video to find the suspect.
Otero says his stepson was not a gangbanger and was a good kid who performed well in school, and who loved the Chicago Bulls.
