CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. - A Matoaca woman tied-up and robbed Thursday inside her Graves Road home said the man who did it busted through her home's back door at about 10:30 p.m. The man, she said, was wearing all-black and a ski mask. Once inside her home, the woman said the man tied her hands behind her back. She said the man tied her husband's hands too.
"The suspect entered the home through a rear door and immediately encountered a woman inside," Chesterfield Police wrote in an email. "He ordered her to the ground and bound her. At this point, the male resident of the home entered the room. The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, demanded money from the man. The suspect then bound the man, forced him to the floor and struck him with a handgun. The man sustained non-life threatening injuries."
The woman said each time she looked at the man, he would hit her with a gun. The man ripped the couple's phone off the wall and smashed their smartphones so they could not call for help.
The gunman got away with money and a bank card, the woman said. Chesterfield Police continued to search for the suspect Friday afternoon.
"The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 190 pounds," police said. "He was wearing black pants, a hooded sweatshirt, a ski mask and gloves."
