Number two ranked UVA rallied from 10 down midway in the second half at Virginia Tech to beat the Hokies 50-47 to improve to 19-0 on the year and 7-0 in the ACC. The Cavaliers won their sixth in a row in the series and fifth straight at Cassell Coliseum. The Hokies have lost seven in a row and winless in the conference at 0-6.
Justin Anderson led the Cavaliers with 12 points, 10 in the final 7:03 of the second half. Head Coach Tony Bennett said after the game, "Now, it didn't look promising, I know that but with college basketball, with young guys, you just keep hanging and you never know."
UVA win despite shooting just 34.7% from the field while Tech shot 45.2.
