WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A robber who walked into a convenience store with plans to rob it apparently changed his mind, as though he recognized the clerk.

According to affiliate KDVR, the would-be robber walked into a Quick Save just before noon on Wednesday.

The man can be seen on surveillance video. He walks in, see the clerk and give him a thumbs up just before walking out.

“I was going to rob this place, but I know you,” the suspect told the clerk, deputies said.  He then asked the clerk, “Do you know me?” The clerk replied that he didn’t, deputies said.

“Good” the suspect replied and walked out of the Quick Save, while giving a thumbs up sign to the clerk.

A short time later a 7-Eleven a mile away from the Quick Save was robbed by a man fitting the same description.
