HOPEWELL, Va. – A police-involved car chase in Hopewell lands a teen in the hospital.
A Prince George County Police officer attempted a routine traffic stop at around 2:05 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Cheshire and Hyde Park drives. Rather than stop, Prince George Police say that the vehicle fled onto Old Iron Road, hitting a police car several times, until the driver lost control of the vehicle, which was totaled when it ran off the road into some trees.
The driver, a male juvenile, was transported to Southside Regional Medical Center and charges are pending.
Hopewell Police will take over the investigation because the accident was in their jurisdiction.
