HENRICO, Va. -- What was thought to be a threat is now being investigated as a hoax.
Henrico Police quickly responded to a shooting call where there was a report of a threatening barricade situation, where a person claimed they have a bomb.
Lt. Eley said that they received a call for a shooting in the 9600 block of Sloman Place, near Gaskins and River Roads, just after 3:30 p.m. Friday.
"Henrico Communications received a call indicating that a female in a home had been shot and residence had been wired with explosives," police said.
A police plane was up in the air, circling the neighborhood, and a command center was set up.
However, after more than an hour on scene, Henrico Police said all who live in the house were accounted for; mother, father, and teenager.
Police will now investigate this as a hoax, though they don't have a suspect yet. The Criminal Investigative Section is investigating the source of the call for service.
