Convicted killer George Huguely asks Va. Supreme Court for new trial

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Convicted killer George Huguely’s legal team is pleading with the Virginia Supreme Court to grant a new trial.

Huguely, who killed fellow University of Virginia student Yeardley Love in 2010, is serving a 23-year sentence.

His original appeal was denied in November.

Huguely’s lawyers argued his rights were violated during his 2012 trial.
