CHESTER, Va. -- Chesterfield Police are on scene of a shooting in the 2900 block of Appleford Road.

The shooting may have occurred during an attempted home robbery around 5:40 p.m. Monday night, police sources report.

A neighbor who spoke to CBS 6 said she heard two shots, then witnessed a man running down the street, grabbing his leg.

A moment later, the neighbor said a woman came down the street screaming “I shot him, I shot him.”

The man wound up seeking help from a nearby homeowner, who helped patch up the man's wound, the neighbor said.

The woman did tell police she was robbed, but police said she does not live at the house. Neither do the two men who ran away when shots were fired. Police are working to sort out information.

The one gunshot victim has been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
