Overnight storms leave thousands in the dark

RICHMOND, Va. — More than 600 people across Central Virginia woke up in the dark early Sunday morning.

Dominion Virginia Power says wind and rain knocked out power for about 4,000 customers late Saturday night in Richmond City as well as, Chesterfield, Powhatan, Goochland, and Henrico Counties.

Crews worked through the night to restore power.

By 6:00 am Sunday morning the number of those without power fell to about 600.

Dominion Virginia Power says they hope to have all electricity restored by 10:00 am
