COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. — Lines began forming outside the Best Buy in Colonial Heights Thursday morning as a handful of shoppers await big deals.
Thursday’s unpredictable weather did not deter shoppers looking for deep discounts, although the number of people camping out was smaller compared to last.
But those eager shoppers in-line for Black Friday savings said they are hoping to get big ticket items for a steal.
“We heard about a 50-inch flat screen Panasonic TV for $199 and we thought that was a huge deal,” said Daniel Alexander, an early Black Friday shopper. “So we figured we would come out here and this time with our family for it. So it’s a great experience we’re having for the first time, so we enjoy it and it will be a great memory.”
Another shopper, Brian Jarrett, said he checked Target and Walmart for similar deals, but said that he couldn’t find another store that had 50-inch TVs for under $200.
The Colonial Heights Best Buy will close at 1 a.m. and the reopen at 8 a.m. Friday for those Black Friday deals.
