After rolling since August 22, the estimated $321 million Mega Millions jackpot was won in New York on Tuesday night, according to lottery officials.
A single ticket matched all six numbers (9, 15, 24, 39 and 41, plus the Mega Ball of 1) on Nov. 4.
A lucky New Yorker also won a $4 million Match 5 prize, since one ticket matching the five white balls also included the optional Megaplier for an additional $1 purchase. Winning Match 5 tickets were also sold in California, New Jersey and Texas (two).
Since the jackpot was last won in California on August 22, there have been more 40.7 million winning tickets sold at all prize levels through the Nov. 4 draw, including 40 Match 5 second-tier prizes.
The $321 million jackpot ranks as the 8th largest in Mega Millions history:
