RICHMOND, Va. — The Richmond Flying Squirrels earned a trip to the Eastern League Championship Series with a 5-1 win over the Akron RubberDucks on Saturday night, at the Diamond.
The team is headed to the ELCS for the second time in franchise history.
On Tuesday night the Binghamton Mets face the Flying Squirrels at The Diamond for game one. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and first pitch is at 6:35 p.m. with fireworks immediately following the game.
The next night, Wednesday, Sept. 10 is game two against the Binghamton Mets. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and first pitch is at 6:35 p.m. with fireworks immediately following the game.
These are the last two games you have to cheer on the Flying Squirrels at The Diamond in 2014.
This is the second time they’ve entered the championship series, but would be the first time they won.
After the first two games the team travels to Binghamton.
