Man shot while walking to his car near Richmond park

RICHMOND, Va.- Police are looking for the person who shot a man who was walking to his car early Wednesday morning. The man was shot in the hand and wrist. He was taken to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting happened at about 1:08 a.m. in the 3100 block of Woodcliff Avenue near Craigie Avenue in North Richmond. The area is just north of Brookland Park Boulevard and west of Meadowbridge Road near Hotchkiss Park.

The man was walking to his Toyota Camry when he was shot, police said.

Richmond Police have not yet released a description of the shooter.

Police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
