PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. -- It's not the type call Emergency Dispatchers in Prince George County get on a daily basis.

Dispatch took a call early Monday morning, just after midnight, for a teenage girl that the caller said could be in danger; but he wasn’t anywhere near her, although he could see her.

The caller said he believed his friend had passed out on the other side of the computer, from drinking too much.

"He had been Skype-ing another individual and through that Skype, he witnessed this individual consuming alcohol and what appeared to be getting sick and maybe even passing out from the consumption of that alcohol" said Lt. Paul Burroughs with the Prince George County Police.

The dispatcher sent both Prince George County Police and Emergency Crews to the home.

"They spoke with the mother and identified the 15-year-old child, that obviously was under the influence and at that point, through concerns and checking the welfare, they transported her to Southside Regional Medical Center,” said Lt. Burroughs.

The teenager was treated and released from the hospital.

Police continue to investigate where the alcohol came from and if any charges will be placed.

"Too much alcohol could turn into alcohol poisoning and we're not sure what the results could have been,” Lt. Burroughs said, as he credited the person on the other end of the chat for calling for help.
