FOXBORO, Mass. — A 5-year-old boy with inoperable brain cancer wants one thing for his birthday: A box full of birthday cards with his name on them.
ABC News reported that Danny Nickerson was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma last month. Less than 10 percent of people with the condition live longer than 18 months.
He has stopped attending kindergarten to be treated, but is lonely now that he is away from his friends, according to reports.
Danny’s sixth birthday is Friday, July 25. His mother said he can recognize his name and would like to see his name on the cards.
