RICHMOND, Va.- Roland L. Boone, 23 of East 37th Street, was charged with Felony Elude, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Hit and Run and Operating on a Suspended License after he lead police on a pursuit that resulted in a crash Friday evening.
Boone remains hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries he suffered in the crash.
Officers tried to pull over Boone on West 27th Street in South Richmond about 8 p.m. Friday, according to police. When Boone sped away, officers gave chase.
Boone threw a gun out of the window during the pursuit, police said.
The chase ended when Boone crashed into a power pole on 29th Street. He then tried to run from the crash site, but was captured and arrested by police.
The original traffic stop was part of an annual Fugitive and Firearms initiative, police said.
