ISLE OF WIGHT, Va. -- A 44-year-old Cartollton man is behind bars facing a slew of charges in connection with a bizarre attack that sent a deputy to the hospital last week.
Isle of Wight deputies were dispatched to a call about a person with possible mental problems in the 21000 block of Wigwam Circle on May 22.
WTKR reports that when one deputy arrived, he hound Derrick Allison stark naked and strangling a woman.
One deputy tried to get in the middle, but officials said Allison started growling and attempted to bite the deputy’s face.
That deputy then deployed two Taser cartridges, but Allison pulled out the probes and then the pair fought for several minutes until the deputy was finally able subdue the suspect
Allison was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
The deputy was checked out at Norfolk General Hospital.
Allison was charged with abduction, assault and battery of an officer, disorderly conduct, strangulation, assault and battery, resisting arrest, destruction of property, assault and battery of a family member.
Deputies think Allison may have mental health issues.
