UPDATE: Police name victim in deadly Chesterfield apartment shooting

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - David Emmanuel-Sinclair Copeland, 23, of the 3300 block of Meadowdale Boulevard, was shot and killed early Thursday morning outside his apartment, according to Chesterfield Police.

"At about 12:43 a.m. today, police responded to the 3300 block of Meadowdale Boulevard for a report of multiple shots fired," police said via email. "Upon arrival, police located two adult male shooting victims."

Copeland died at the scene. A second victim was taken to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police are looking for multiple suspects. They set-up a command center overnight and are working to release a description of the suspects while they continue to search for clues.

Investigators are unsure at this time whether or not the suspects ran or drove away from the crime scene.
