ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) — The suspect in a shooting at a FedEx facility in Georgia early Tuesday has died “from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,” police said. Six people were wounded in the shootings, officials said.

Officers were still sweeping the area in a suburb northwest of Atlanta to confirm that there were no additional threats, Cobb County Police Public Information Officer Mike Bowman said.

The six victims were taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where at least one person was undergoing surgery, hospital spokesman Tyler Pearson said.

One person was in critical condition, police said.

A caller alerted police to the shooting at 5:54 a.m. at the facility in Kennesaw, Bowman said. Kennesaw is about a 25-mile drive northwest of downtown Atlanta.
