HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — A 61-year-old driver has been charged after a his tractor-trailer carrying pork broth overturned on the off-ramp from I-295 south to I-64 east Wednesday afternoon.
State police were called to the wreck just after 12:00 p.m. when the driver of a semi lost control of his Freightliner and the semi overturned.
Albert S. Donnelly III, of Virginia Beach, was charged with reckless driving – failure to maintain proper control.
Donnelly, who was wearing his safety belt, suffered minor injuries.
State police said speed is a factor in the crash.
Officials said the trailer, which was fully loaded with containers containing pork broth, will need to be offloaded from the trailer before crews can upright the semi.
As of 4 p.m., the right lane of the off-ramp from I-295 south to I-64 east was closed because of the wreck.
