Richmond has a new festival, Shockoe Fest 2014, it’s a family friendly St. Patty’s Day Weekend event set for Saturday, March 15, 11am – 4pm at the 17th Street Farmer’s Market, sponsored by the Shockoe Bottom Neighborhood Association. The St. Patty’s Day themed festival has a kids zone, face painting, live music, Muggivan Irish dancers, a bagpipe exhibition, a drum and Fife Corp, and food.
Restaurants and bars in Shockoe Bottom, Shockoe Slip and the Canal will also be open with their own events to compliment Shockoe Fest. The event is free and open to the public. For details www.shockoefest.com or the Facebook Page or 804-943-3053.
