HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Police arrested a Petersburg woman accused in a string of ATM related crimes. Jasmine Wheeler is charged with two counts of obtaining money under false pretenses, according to Henrico Police.
Wheeler is accused of ripping off several people at Henrico ATM’s in December.
CBS 6's Chelsea Rarrick spoke to Wheeler by phone Friday night.
She would not discuss her case, but said that she wants people to know she is a family orientated person.
“The suspect told victims she needed to cash a check but she did not have her debit card with her. Several victims deposited the suspect’s check into their own account and then withdrew the same amount in cash to give to the suspect,” Henrico Police spokeswoman Lt. Linda Toney wrote in an email earlier this month “Checks provided by the suspect were all from closed accounts.”
