VSP investigate fatal crash in King and Queen County

KING & QUEEN COUNTY, Va. (WTVR)- Virginia State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that left a person dead Friday night along Route 633 at Route 629 in King and Queen County.

According to State police, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Virginia State Police were called to Route 633 at Route 629 after the driver of a 2005 Ford failed to stop at the stop sign. The driver then ran off the roadway striking an embankment.

The driver, Toledo O. Hayes, age 39, of King William County, was not wearing his safety belt, and died at the scene.

Speed is considered a factor.

Virginia State police say this is an on-going crash investigation.
