Body found in Goochland is Waynesboro police captain

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- The body found in Goochland County on Thursday have been positively identified as that of Waynesboro Police Captain Kevin Wayne Quick.

Virginia State Police said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed the identity Friday evening and are not releasing a cause of death at this time.

Quick,'s body was discovered Thursday off Old Columbia Road in Goochland County, near the Fluvana county line.

Quick disappeared Friday night after he left his mother’s Afton home. He was headed to see the mother of his four-month-old daughter, about 20 miles away.

Late Thursday night police made more arrests in connection with the case; two men and a woman were arrested. Police believe additional charges could be made, and possibly additional suspects charged.

There have been five arrests in connection with Quick's disappearance.
