Semi driver rescued after running off road in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — The driver of a semi truck was rescued after running off the road Wednesday morning.

Captain Brian A. Kei with Prince George County Police said officers were called to the 9200 block of County Drive for a report of a tractor-trailer accident at 7:40 a.m.

Kei said the semi was traveling eastbound on County Drive when the driver ran off the road and struck several trees.

Fire and EMS crews extricated the driver from the cab.

The driver was transported to Southside Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck’s cab had extensive damage.

Officials said the accident remains under investigation.
