3 men wanted for Fredericksburg homicide nabbed in Richmond

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (WTVR) — Fredericksburg police say all four suspects wanted for a November homicide are in police custody.

Officials said that three of the four suspects were arrested in Richmond.

The latest arrest happened Friday afternoon when U.S. Marshals picked up 23-year-old John Edwin Pegram near Richmond.

With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, 19-year-old Lorenzo McKinley Jones was arrested in Richmond on Dec. 19 and 22-year-old Diontae Washington turned himself in to Richmond authorities on Dec. 21.

Additionally, 22-year-old Wesley Carlton Smith was arrested in Stafford County on Dec. 18.

The suspects face first-degree murder and robbery charges for their involvement in the shooting death of Rodney Beanum Jr. in the 1900 block of Howard Ave. around 2:35 a.m. on Nov. 24.
