The Richmond School Board named three men as finalists in the search for the city’s next school superintendent.
A forum was also announced that will provide City Council and Richmond residents an opportunity to meet and interview three finalists.
The forum will be held at Albert Hill Middle School, located at 3400 Patterson Avenue, at 6:00 p.m., on Dec. 18.
“The search process has produced three exciting candidates we look forward to presenting to the community. Each of these individuals brings strengths that will positively impact our schools under their leadership, and we feel fortunate to have this caliber of finalists from which to select,” Chair, Richmond School Board Chairman Jeff Bourne said in a statement.
The finalists are:
Dr. Dana Bedden, former Superintendent of Irving ISD in Texas
Dr. Anthony Jackson, Superintendent of Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools in North Carolina
Dr. Calvin Watts, Assistant Superintendent in the Division of School Improvement and Operations with Gwinnett County Public Schools in Georgia.

The School Board expects to have the next Superintendent chosen by Monday, December 23.
