ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – The pilot of a Cessna plane that crashed in Albemarle County Wednesday morning has died, Virginia State Police told WCAV reporter Chris Stover.
The plane crashed near Preddy Creek Road and Watts Passage, about 14 miles north of Charlottesville.
Stover reported the Pegasus medical helicopter landed at the scene, but took off without a patient on board.
The pilot was identified as 52-year-old Gregory Voit from Woodbine, N.J.
