RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – A multi-car accident has closed the intersection of West Broad St. and Staples Mill Road near the Henrico County-Richmond line, according to multiple witnesses.
Police responded to the scene around 8:40 a.m. According to witnesses, a car ran through a red light and hit a police vehicle and another car as well. The officer was taken to VCU Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Staples Mill Road was shut down around 8:45 a.m. The crash team is still on scene.
Charges are pending against the driver.
