YORK COUNTY, Va. (WTKR) — The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office says a suspicious incident may involve the suspect in the recent reported Isle of Wight abduction and sexual assault.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, on Nov. 11, a white male drove up to a 13-year-old girl in the 200 block of Skimino Road and attempted to have her get in the car with him.

The girl said no and when a parent started to approach the vehicle, the suspect drove away.

The girl told police that the suspect looked like the sketch of the suspect in the Isle of Wight abduction case.

The vehicle was described as a silver two-door Chevrolet Cavalier-type vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies are increasing patrols in the area and investigators are sharing information with the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office.

If anyone has any information, they’re asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

Capt. Gaddis  with the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office says at this point, with the limited information, it would be a stretch to connect the attempted abduction in York-Poquoson to the abduction in Isle of Wight but he says they are keeping an open mind.
