CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Hundreds of customers were left without power after a car hit a pole early Sunday morning.

It happened just before 2 a.m. at the intersection of Turner Road and Jessup Road.  Police say a car hit a pole, but the tension caused another pole to snap as well.

Originally, there were 931 customers out of power when Dominion arrived on scene.  Since then, they were able to reroute the power to get 200 customers back on.  As of noon, there were still 700 people without power.

Dominion fully restored the power just after 1:30 p.m.

VDOT was also on scene to block off the intersection.

The number of injuries are unknown at this point and the crash is still under investigation.
