Absentee ballot applications not received due to technical difficulties

Posted

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Voters sending in absentee ballot applications via fax this week may not have received a notification that their fax wasn’t received.

The City of Richmond issued a press release saying they had technical difficulties receiving faxed absentee ballot applications from 2 p.m. on Thursday to 3 p.m. on Friday.

The Office of the General Registrar said they believe all of the delayed faxes have been recovered, but recommend voters to check online or with their local registrar’s office to see if their application has received.

The deadline to send in an application through the mail is this coming Tuesday at 5 p.m.  However, voters have until 5 p.m next Saturday to apply and vote absentee in person.
