ALBERMARLE, Va. (WTVR)– A suspect has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of an Albemarle County teenager on Friday, October 18th.
On October 23rd, Virginia Beach Police served warrants on 24-year-old Johnathan Lee Messer from Kingsport, Tenn.
Messer was charged with one felony count of production or distribution of child pornography, one felony count of use of electronic means for child pornography and two felony counts of possession of child pornography, according to Carter Johnson, Public Information Officer with the Albemarle Police Department.
Messer is currently being held without bond at the Virginia Beach City Jail.
Johnson said that “It is important to point out that this was not a random act and there is no public safety threat for our community.”
WCAV reported Wednesday that Albemarle County Police said that they know the identities of everyone involved in the possible abduction.
The release also said “…that the incident was not a random act and the parties involved were not unknown to each other.”
Fiona Erskine, a 16-year-old Albemarle County teen, disappeared Friday night but returned home Saturday morning.
Erskine, a student at Albemarle High School, disappeared while taking pictures near her bus stop. Her parents found her phone laying outside around 11 p.m.
A neighbor picked up the teen, who walking on Rio Road around 10 a.m. Saturday morning, and took her home.
