VIDEO: Man uses girlfriend’s Pinterest to plan proposal, wedding on same day

(CNN) — We know what you’re thinking: A Pinterest wedding proposal sounds terrifying.

Or, at the very least, insufferably twee.

But rather than leaving the saccharine taste of chevron-shaped fondant in your mouth, this groom managed to get it all spot-on. Even more crazy? He staged the wedding on the same day as the proposal!

By chance, 27-year-old Ryan Leak overheard his girlfriend Amanda Roman tell a friend that she thought it would be cool to get engaged and married on the same day. Leak was inspired, and spent a whole year trying to figure out a way to make a surprise like that happen. The problem was, Leak needed to know the specifics — what kind of dress would she want? What about the flowers?

Enter Pinterest, the ultimate wingman, the virtual collage site that allows people to visually organize pictures and ideas by “pinning” them to different “boards.”

Leak found his beloved’s Pinterest wedding board, on which she had pinned more than 200 wedding-related ideas and inspirations. Jackpot.

“She planned the entire wedding, without even knowing she planned the entire wedding,” Leak said.

As operation Stealth Pinterest Wedding went on, Leak, who lives in Texas, decided to base the festivities in Miami. He convinced her to fly to Miami with him under the ruse of “helping a friend move.”

When he dropped to his knees outside of a hotel, it became clear this was no ordinary trip.

After she said yes, Leak led her to a room where family and friends were waiting, and they popped the even bigger surprise: Not only was she engaged, she was getting married.

That. Same. Day.

Leak had thought of everything; he even flew in her preferred hairdresser and makeup artist.

Needless to say, his bride was beside herself. “The day was even better than how I would have planned it,” she said. “Realistically I never thought that I would be able to pull off some of the things I saw on Pinterest, but Ryan is a risk-taker and he didn’t settle for my watered-down version of my ‘dream wedding’ — he went for the gusto.”

Their friends also turned the amazing feat into a documentary, which you can watch on YouTube.

So, men, if you are ever feeling like your proposal idea is inadequate, remember the guy who not only proposed, but planned and executed the entire wedding himself. And feel extremely inadequate.*

*Of course we’re just kidding, because all proposals are wonderful and love is grand, so go ahead and pop the question!
