This Friday you can taste the hops–of a labor of love–collaboration between Hardywood and HandsOn Greater Richmond.

In August HandsOn Greater Richmond asked their Facebook fans to describe aspects of their volunteering experience.

The organization took the answers and extracted these four themes.

The majority of respondents enjoying volunteering in fall the most; volunteering makes them feel useful; they remember the emotional impact of helping; and they like do knowledge based service.

Then three “community beer connoisseurs” took the responses and made three concoctions.

How might these elixirs taste? A new flavor will be unveiled at 4 p.m. Oct. 4. The beer will be available until 9 p.m. so don’t sit on the fence, get thee to the brewery if you’re interested.

All proceeds go to benefit the organization’s biggest day of service: HandsOn Greater Richmond Day.

Seize the civic spirit and volunteer to at least shell out some bucks for a tasty brew.
